METASPHERE 1974 + 5
One of the most revolutionary Photographs of the 20th century, the masterpiece is a three dimensional, painted photo-sculpture. It took the Artist 332 hours of work to create. Vastly ahead of its time, the work predicts and predates the computer imagery of the Millennium era and challenges preconceived ideas about Photography and Art. Regarded by many as the magnum opus of Elliott's early 'Symphonies For The Camera', an original approach which would prove massively influential. Limited to 10 originals. In the early Nineties it several times reportedly smashed world record prices for a contemporary Artist Photographer. It finally sold for £25,500 ($40,000). Such prices for photographs were unheard of at the time. This piece offered was - exceptionally - bought back from a collector by Elliott. Condition is immaculate. It is a spectacular 36 inch vintage Cibachrome, on a 48 inch aluminium mount, with a museum mount overlay. Hand printed and signed by Elliott. Framed by John Jones
